1. How do I translate web pages?
Simply type in the URL of the web page you'd like to translate in the translation box of the Translation page, type in the web address or URL of the web page you wish to translate and then click the translate button. It's that easy.

If you are already viewing the page you wish to translate in a different browser window, you can copy-paste the page URL from the other window to the URL box of the ¡TradúceloAhora! translation page.
2. How can I find web pages of interest to translate?
You can translate any web page that is of interest to you. You also may ask the project coordinator at your organization if you'd like recommendations. Additionally, you may use the links of general or local interest that show up on the Translation page.
3. Where are translated web pages displayed?
Translated pages will appear in a new browser window. All subsequent page translations will appear in the same window. You'll also be able to see the most recent pages you visited each time you log in to use ¡TradúceloAhora!
4. How can I view the original web page?
On the Translation page, click the "View source" link next to the translate button.
5. I'd like to save the translated web page. How can I do that?
Use your web browser's Save function. For Internet Explorer, from the File menu, select Save As
; then select a directory and file name in the dialog box that appears, and click Save.
For Mozilla, under the File menu, use the Save Page As
item.
6. How fast are web pages translated?
The translation speed of the ¡TradúceloAhora! translation server is 500 words per second, or approximately one second to translate a small web page.
That time does not include the time required to fetch the web page, the time for your request to be received, or the time to send the translation back to your web browser. In practice, you can experience a 3 to 5 second delay for web page translation requests.
Note that some web pages may be many thousands of words long (e.g., a book), and that some Web sites are slow responding to document requests.
7. Can I set translation preferences?
Not at this time.
8. How do I report web page translation errors?
You can give us your feedback in real-time as soon as the web page is translated.
9. The page I submitted was not translated. Why?
This will occur with web pages whose original web address requests an address redirection, or with web pages produced in response to submission of a web form.
Web address redirection and web form submissions are features not supported by the Tradúcelo translation server.
10. Some sentences or paragraphs on the page are not translated. Why?
There are several reasons. First, the text may be non-translatable content for the translation server; that includes text that is graphic content in images, and text generated by dynamic HTML scripts, Java applets, or Flash.
Second, the text may be too complex for the translation server to process and translate. That includes paragraphs with very long segments. TradúceloAhora! uses a default maximum length of sixty (60) words; segments longer than 60 words are not translated.
11. The menus and banner of the page were not translated. The images on the page are not translated. Why?
The ¡TradúceloAhora! translation server does not translate graphic or image content. Most Web sites use images for their banners, menu items, and buttons, and for this reason they are not translated. However, the translation server can pull the text from the code embedded in the image, if you place the cursor over the image.
12. Some images in the original page don't appear on the translated page. Why?
This is due to difficulty by the translation server to correctly resolve the web address of the images on the translated page. This is particularly difficult to resolve for web addresses generated by dynamic HTML scripts (e.g., image rollovers).
13. The formatting and fonts of the translated page are different from the original. Why?
This is often due to difficulty by the translation server to correctly resolve the web address of linked stylesheet and script information on the translated page. This is particularly difficult to resolve for link web addresses generated by dynamic HTML.
14. The page I want to translate is a PDF document. Why isn't it translated?
The ¡TradúceloAhora! translation server does not support translation of PDF documents.
15. I get a blank page or a "Page Not Found" (404) error. What happened?
This is often due incorrect web link information on translated web pages. The cause of the incorrect link information is difficulty by the translation server to correctly resolve the web addresses of pages linked from the translated page. It is particularly difficult to correctly resolve link web addresses generated by dynamic HTML.
16. There is no translation after submitting a web form. Why?
The ¡TradúceloAhora! translation server does not support translation of responses to web forms. In particular, the results of web search forms will not be translated.
